The Personal Stuff
Since we’ve probably never met, I suppose the goal of this page is to see if I can help you “get” me in just a few paragraphs. First of all, if you love this website and it makes you feel happy, you already know a lot about me. I’ve done my best to make it a reflection of who I am, what I love, and how I want to support you.
So what do you need to know about me? First things first…I’m a doer, an entrepreneur with a very strong work ethic. I don’t sit still well, and tend to dive into projects with both feet (sometimes even before I know exactly what the plan is). Action is a key word for me. I work too hard, but I work for myself so that’s okay.
Making a difference in the lives of everyone with whom I come into contact is what drives me, and my best days are the ones where someone has a huge breakthrough on a group coaching call or sends me a Facebook message thanking me for something they learned from me that made a difference in their lives and businesses. The money is great. The freedom is great, but without this component, I’d quit tomorrow.
I’m also a wife and mom. I’ve been divorced from my kids’ dad, David, since they were little guys and we have built an awesome friendship as we’ve co-parented our boys for the last dozen or so years (not to mention a business called “Your Family Dynamic” to share how we did that). I’m (finally) married to the love of my life, John. He’s friends with David, I’m friends with David’s new wife, and our kids are the beneficiaries of all that friendship. I have two great step-kids, including a daughter, Chelsey Marie, I thought I’d never have. I love my two boys and the men they are becoming and consider my fun, positive relationships with these two very cool teenagers one of my greatest accomplishments.
Just the Facts, Ma’am
Officially, here’s the business definition for who I am. I’m a direct sales corporate consultant and trainer, an ICF accredited life and business coach, and the CEO of Julie Anne Jones, Inc. I’m the systems queen, and can break down just about any concept or big picture into doable steps. I’m organized beyond belief (probably a little OCD, truth be told) and that, combined with the systems part, has given me the ability to teach simple direct sales systems that work for anyone. I am also a communicator and I pretty much tell it like it is (a nice way to say this is that I’m “authentic”). For that reason, people seem to love my “cut to the chase,” honest language and I teach specific language in pretty much every system I cover.
I’ve been told I have a “dynamic personality”(which is a nice way of saying I’m fun and sometimes a little loud). I know I’m very direct, approachable, and entertaining as a trainer. I come by my expertise in the direct sales field naturally, having worked within both a party plan and MLM direct sales marketing structure. I was an award winner and nationally recognized in both businesses. I was never a “superstar” but I was consistent. I created a systematic way of working those businesses that has become the foundation for what I train now. And it works for pretty much anyone who takes the time to apply it to their business.
Over the past seven years, I’m blessed to have had the privilege of bringing my training to corporate events throughout the United States and Canada.
I’m most at home when I’m on stage and live training is my favorite thing to do in the whole world. I love sharing my information, whether it’s from the stage, through my popular Direct Sales Virtual Academy, my webinar and tele-seminar training platforms, or my blogs. I’m a connector, pure and simple, so this is the perfect job for me.
I have a degree in theatre, so that always makes for an interesting, unique experience for me and my audience (because I’m kind of a drama queen, but in a good way). At any given moment I’ve been known to use gentle sarcasm to make a point or burst into song to get my audience’s attention.
I believe that audiences learn more successfully when they’re having fun, so my trainings are interactive and entertaining as well as informative. I teach through lots of stories about my own life, family, and failure because I think people can relate to my experience. Most of the laughs I get from the stage are at my own expense, which suits me fine. I not only tell my audiences what to do and how it will improve their results, I also break it down and give them simple tools and language to implement those concepts.
What do I teach? Personal development, coaching and mentoring skills, direct sales leadership, party presentation tools, how to get bookings, recruiting from the heart, and host coaching top the list.
That pretty much covers it. I’d love to connect with you if you think you’d like to work with me. Click here to check my speaking page for more specifics regarding my live training benefits, or hit me up over on Facebook. You can also email me (not my assistant. This will come straight to me) at julie@julieannejones.com. I can’t wait to connect with you.
