Thanks, Julie, for answering my question. I guess I am just bowled over by how simple and easy it is. Now that I am starting to have a downline, I think I need to challenge them to do something and as a reward, I will buy them a booking tree. I found mine at Hobby Lobby. It is black metal and has 5 or 6 double hearts that you slide your cards into. I figured that hearts were appropriate since I love the parties!

Jan,
It is that simple, and I prefer the booking tree. I'm not a big fan of "tricking" someone (even if they know if they choose to "play" they have to host a party) into booking a party. To me, it feels desperate and like you're leveraging someone. I never wanted someone to book because they felt like they were being leveraged to do it.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi!
My company trains a lot on the success of a game called Pass or Play, Deal or No Deal, Shop or Drop (different names, same basic idea) for bookings. After the booking game or commercial, each guest is handed a sealed envelope or attractive container (box, mini purse, etc) and asked not to open it--yet. Then they are told that inside is one of 3 possible gifts. You demo the gifts. You tell them that if they want the gift, they will be the big winner because you are coming to their house so their friends can "play in the jewelry." You repeat that part so they KNOW that if they open the box, they will host a show. Then they can either PLAY or quietly give the box back. Then, everyone opens the box to see if they got the one of the gifts that they would have preferred to receive. The note says that they get to pick which one they like best.
Supposedly, that is very effective. But, in your experience, would I be better off with the booking tree? Would I just give my booking commercial and tell them that the available dates are on the cards and if they pick one, they get the gift attached to the card? Is it that simple.
Is it that effective?
Thanks for your help! I bought your audio training on Designing an Amazing Party Experience and absolutely LOVE it!
