Tara – Great question and there are lots of ways to support long-distance team members, especially in the “information age.” First, make sure you’ve set up a time to talk with them at least weekly. If you have a brand new person, make that more often. I love conference calls because you can do one training for multiple people, which maximizes your time. http://www.freeconferencecall.com is a great resource. Also make sure you have an active Facebook profile and encourage your entire team to have the same so you can keep in touch that way throughout the week. You can even set up a private Facebook group just for your team where they can communicate with and support each other and you can reach all of them easily as well.
Hope some of these tips help!

I am working with a number of direct sellers who are attempting to balance a full-time job, their personal direct sales business, their family, and their team (many of whom are not local). I greatly appreciate your suggestions for using your own business to train your team members and I think it's an excellent suggestion for people with local team members. How do you help those who are looking to balance their personal life (family and job), plus their direct sales business, plus work with their team (many of whom are long distance?).
